FINITE SIZE SCALING ANALYSIS OF SU(2) LATTICE GAUGE-THEORY IN (3 + 1) DIMENSIONS

We have calculated the order parameter, the susceptibility and the normalized fourth cumulant gr with high precision on Nσ3×4 lattices (Nσ=8,12,18 and 26) for SU(2) gauge theory at finite temperature. The finite size scaling analysis of these quantities confirms that the critical exponents of SU(2) gauge theory are the same as those of the three-dimensional Ising model, the infinite volume value for the critical coupling is 4/gc2 (Nτ = 4) = 2.2985 ±0.0006. With direct scaling fits we determine β/ν and γ/ν and find excellent agreement with the hyperscaling relation. © 1990.
