NUMERICAL EVALUATION OF THE STOPPING POWER FOR A PROTON IN A STRONGLY COUPLED ELECTRON-GAS

摘要
Within the linear-response dielectric theory, the stopping powers for a proton moving in a uniform electron gas are calculated in the low and intermediate velocity regions. Taking into account the exchange-correlation of electron gas, the local-field correction dielectric function is used. A comparison of our calculations with other results based on the random-phase approximation dielectric theory is made and a fit expression to the direct numerical results for stopping number is given.
