摘要
Most of bovine gingival collagen is insoluble. CNBr treatment cleaved 85% of the insoluble material as soluble collagen peptides. Characterization of the CNBr peptides showed that gingival collagen is composed mainly of Types I and III in a ratio of 6:1 An additiona fraction, composed mainly of noncollagenous protein components (NCP) rich in acidic, hydroxy‐ and hydrophobic amino acids, accounted for approximately 15% of the insoluble matrix.
