摘要
The influence of spin-dependent electron and impurity potentials on in-plane transport properties of magnetic layered structures is analysed theoretically within the Kubo formalism. The effective electron potential in the ferromagnetic films as well as the impurity scattering potential are assumed to be spin-dependent. The giant magnetoresistance (GMR) effect occurs when there is a spin-asymmetry in relaxation times. The dependence of GMR on the spin-asymmetry of the effective electron potential is analysed in detail for a simple bilayer structure. It is shown that GMR decreases with increasing spin-splitting of the electron band and vanishes when the magnet turns to a one spin-subband ferromagnet.
