摘要
A method of solution of partial differential equations describing the problem is presented. A discussion of the stability of steady state solutions, based on the analysis of the system of partial differential equations for transient process is given. The procedure used consist of the transformation to the system of ordinary differential equations which are then analyzed by the first method of Ljapunov. In the vicinity of a steady state solution the validity of the one-dimensional model is tested by comparing with the exact model. It is shown, that the forecasts obtained on the basis of the simple model are satisfactory. The effect of Lewis number on the stability of steady states is discussed by making use of the two-dimensional model. The conclusions are illustrated by a number of numerically solved examples. © 1969.
