OPTIMIZATION OF A FLUORIMETRIC GROUP DETECTION METHOD FOR POLYCYCLIC AROMATIC-HYDROCARBONS ON SILICA-GEL

摘要
The detection method for the group of polycyclic aromatics, developed a few years ago, was specially laid out for 6 aromatics which are significant under the German Drinking Water Regulation. Besides the improvement of indenopyrene detection, the detection limit was generally lowered by two decimal powers; it is now well below 0.1 ng per individual aromatic. At the same time, the consistency of nanogram quantities on silica gel and the signal/back-ground ratio were improved substantially. The results are comparable to those of high-pressure liquid chromatography. © 1979 Springer-Verlag.
