摘要
Ward [W. D. Ward (1963). “Auditory Fatigue and Masking,” in Modern Developments in Audiology, J. Jerger, Ed. (Academic Press Inc., New York)] has stated that recovery following an exposure sufficient to produce temporary threshold shift (TTS) is a function solely of the amount of TTS and is independent both of the nature of the stimulus producing it and of the frequency of the test tone. In some experiments with impulse noise, the impression was gained (based on very little data) that recovery might be different at very high test frequencies, and since Ward had employed somewhat lower test frequencies in his experiment, it appeared advisable to determine whether his generalizations would hold for higher test frequencies. Apparently they do. © 1969, Acoustical Society of America. All rights reserved.
