摘要
An attempt was made to analyze in monkeys in what way an artificial rise in eye pressure reduces the rate of aqueous flow from the posterior chamber into the anterior chamber. The eye pressure in one eye was stabilized at about 21 mm Hg, the other eye had its spontaneous pressure of about 9 mm Hg.3H-labelled cycloleucine was given intravenously several times over a 1-3 hour period. The content of labelled cycloleucine in the vitreous body of the eyes with high pressure and the controls were analyzed in a total of 12 animals. At all the three time intervals investigated the amount of labelled material in the vitreous body of the eyes with high pressure and the controls were almost exactly the same. This indicates that the pressure rise did not change the rate of flow between the vitreous humour and the posterior chamber. It seems very likely then that in the pressure region investigated a rise in intraocular pressure reduces the rate of secretion of aqueous humour. © 1969 Dr. W. Junk N.V.
