IONIC MODEL FOR THE STABILITY OF THE Y-BA-CU HIGH-TEMPERATURE SUPERCONDUCTORS

摘要
The structural stability of the Y-Ba-Cu high-temperature superconductors is described using a modified ionic model. The necessary and sufficient interatomic forces required for static stability within this model are determined and the resulting energy parameters are used to calculate the phonon frequencies. The best-fit parameters are determined for the different Y-Ba-Cu-O structures, and the differences in their internal forces are explained. The possibility of a three-chain material is explored. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
