THE INFRARED-SPECTRUM OF BARIUM OXIDE IN THE GAS-PHASE

摘要
The high-resolution infrared spectrum of barium oxide has been observed in a low-pressure flame by reacting hot barium vapor with nitrous oxide. A total of 140 rovibrational transitions of the five most abundant isotopic species have been detected with a tunable diode laser flame spectrometer. For the main species, 138BaO, 53 lines have been assigned to rovibrational transitions of the v = 1 ← 0 to v = 6 ← 5 bands. The new infrared data have been combined with previous microwave and millimeter-wave transition frequencies from the literature to yield precise Dunham coefficients for the X1Σ+ electronic ground state of BaO. © 1990.
