摘要
In the search for a simple, rapid and automated spectrophotometric method for quantitative determination of water in acetone, five previously reported batch techniques were applied to flow injection analysis (FIA). The selected reagents applied to the flow injection mode included lead tetraacetate Chromeazurol B, dithizone, cobalt dichloride, and potassium dichromate. Although the method using potassium dichromate as a reagent provided, by far, the best results for the range from 0.05 to 5.0% v/v water-acetone, in this report, all five experiments are described. Four of the methods are only mentioned briefly to explain their major drawbacks and obstacles when applied to FIA, the technique using potassium dichromate chemistry is described in detail.
