摘要
Arrangements to encode the position of a particle incident on a microchannel plate detector in less than 1 mus are described. This permits operation in a pulse-counting mode at high count-rates with minimal losses due to paralysis, while maintaining high spatial resolution. Results obtained indicate that a spatial resolution of better than 0.25% of the detector dimension is achievable.
