OZONOLYSIS OF 1,1-DIFLUOROETHYLENE - MICROWAVE-SPECTRUM AND ELECTRIC-DIPOLE MOMENT OF 1,1-DIFLUOROETHYLENE OZONIDE

摘要
1,1-Difluoroethylene ozonide (3,3-difluoro-1,2,4-trioxolane) has been isolated from the ozonolysis of 1,1-C2H2F2 and characterized by microwave, IR, NMR, and mass spectroscopy. The microwave spectrum was characteristic of a single ring conformer with rotational constants (MHz) of A = 4966.52(1), B - 2570.64(1), and C = 2456.79(1). The observed conformer was estimated to be at least 850 cal more stable than any other populated semirigid conformation. Two vibrational satellites corresponding to ring vibrations of 195 ± 22 and 103 ± 21 cm-1 were assigned. The dipole moment (D) was determined as μ = 2.74(3) with components of μa = 2.20(1), μb = 1.50(9), and μc = 0.65(18). The rotational constants do not unequivocally distinguish between a twisted or envelope ring conformation. © 1979 American Chemical Society.
