摘要
Continued world population growth, coupled with an increased regard for environmentally acceptable agricultural practices, has led to a demand for alternatives to chemicals as agents of pest control in crop plants. This article describes the growing interest in breeding insect-resistant plants, especially using the newer techniques of genetic engineering.
