摘要
A fracture mechanics analysis shows that a subsurface crack, acted upon by the stress field associated with an asperity contact, will extend out of its plane in a direction towards the surface of the wear piece. It is suggested that this effect is the first stage of debris formation in sliding wear of ceramics. © 1990 Springer-Verlag New York Inc.
