Results of YBaCuO and ZrO2 laser deposition on sapphire are presented. A special deposition scheme used two crossed Nd: glass laser beams. A laser-deposited ZrO2 layer was epitaxially grown. A superconductive YBaCuO laser-deposited layer on a ZrO2 buffer film was c-axis oriented. T(c) of 89.5 K and J(c)(77 K) of 1.5 x 10(6) A cm-2 were measured for a YBaCuO film of 100 nm thickness deposited on a ZrO2/sapphire substrate. The droplet density on the YBaCuO surface was smaller than 10(4) cm-2.
