摘要：

This article describes a study at the University of California, Irvine on the utilization of documents from all levels of government-federal, state, local, and international. Among the factors analyzed are: circulation versus in-house use, status of borrower, gender, classes of documents used, microfiche use, and date of publications used. In addition to broadening the scope of prior circulation and in-house use studies, a special effort was made to provide comparability with previous studies. © 1991.
