摘要
Laurel-North Bay ceramic affinities are briefly stated. Possible objections to a northern Minnesota Laurel source and a northwest to southeast diffusion of pseudo-scallopshell stamping and other modes to North Bay are discussed. Archaeological complexes around the Upper Great Lakes are examined for pertinent information, and data drawn from Ontario Laurel sites are used to delimit the probable direction from whence came the Laurel-Ascribed elements in northeastern Wisconsin. Diffusional connections with Ontario are favored over Minnesota. © Society for American Archaeology 1969.
