摘要
The performance characteristics of batch-injection analysis (BIA) are evaluated. This nonflow injection technique results in many of the attractive features of flow-injection analysis (FIA) while eliminating the need for a flow manifold. BIA has emerged from the coupling of controlled dispension, wall-jet detection, and huge dilution. While greatly different in experimental setup, BIA and FIA share the same basic concept of reproducible transport and washout of microliter samples over the detector surface. The role of dispersion in BIA systems, means to promote chemical reactions, and future prospects are discussed. © 1992.
