TEMPERATURE-DEPENDENCE OF LATTICE-CONSTANTS OF RB3D(SEO4)2

The lattice constants of Rb3D(SeO4)2 have been measured in the temperature range 20-297 K using an automatic 4-circle X-ray diffractometer with a closed-cycle refrigerator. With decreasing temperature, the a-, b- and c-axes in the monoclinic cell showed a monotonous decrease, whereas β decreased very little, which is similar to Rb3H(SeO4)2. The changes in the lattice constants around the transition temperature (92 K) seem very small and hardly significant. These characteristics are discussed in relation to the nature of the H-bond system in Rb3D(SeO4)2. © 1990.
