LUMINESCENCE STUDIES OF RHENIUM(I) COMPLEXES UNDER HIGH-PRESSURE

摘要
The effect of pressure on the luminescence energy and efficiency of Re(I) complexes has been studied in four media: in quaternized poly (4-vinylpyridine) (QPVP), dissolved in poly (4-vinylpyridine) (PVP), dissolved in poly (acrylic acid) (PAA), and as the crystalline solid. The peak shifts with pressure correlated excellently with the intensity changes which provides a confirmation of the energy gap law. This has previously been observed for bonding-antibonding excitations in aromatic compounds and metal chelates. However in this case a metal to ligand charge transfer (MLCT) excitation is involved and this is the first clear demonstration of the energy gap law for such excitation under high pressure.
