The Oak Ridge National Laboratory has developed an automated regional screening procedure capable of using multiple sets of siting criteria to identify candidate areas for energy facility sites. In an application in n.nd the procedure identified candidate areas for fossil-fired and nuclear power plants andadditional information on potential impacts. Socioeconomic, ecological, and engineering objectives were examined for their effects on candidate area selection.-Author
