TEMPERATURE DISTRIBUTION AND ITS KINETICS IN A SEMICONDUCTING SANDWICH

摘要
The temperature distribution and its change in time is calculated for a semiconducting sandwich between two metal electrodes by solving the thermal balance equation including Joule's heating for one spatial coordinate and neglecting space‐charge effects. As boundary conditions, three cases are analysed: perfect cooling and Newton's cooling of the metal electrodes, however neglecting a temperature drop in the metal layers, or including a finite heat conductivity of the electrodes.
