Obtaining electron density profiles from integrated measurements (e.g., those made with a multichannel interferometer) in the case of asymmetrical plasma distributions often entails serious difficulties. Here we describe a method applicable when the profiles are shifted along the equatorial plane and also when the relation between phase shift and electron density may not be considered as linear (proximity of the cutoff for the exploring wave).
