TIME-DEPENDENT HARTREE-FOCK AND ELEMENTARY MODES OF EXCITATION DESCRIPTION OF DEEP INELASTIC PROCESSES IN THE REACTION PB-208+PB-208 - COMPARISON

摘要
A detailed comparison between results of time-dependent Hartree-Fock calculations for the reaction 208Pb + 208Pb and the analysis of the same reaction by a model describing the mechanism of excitation in terms of the collective surface modes of the reacting nuclei is presented. Mass transfer is included in the latter as a one-body dissipation process treated in the proximity approximation. The general agreement between both calculations seems to indicate that the violation of self-consistency implied by the use of the normal modes of the separate nuclei throughout the collision is not very important. © 1979.
