ON OPTIMIZATION OF THE DISCRETE VELOCITY METHOD USED IN RAREFIED-GAS DYNAMICS

摘要
It is shown that the modification of the kinetic equations using the continuum solution allows us to decrease difficulties of numerical calculation in the discrete velocity method at small Knudsen numbers. As an example the problem of the rarefied gas flow between parallel plates (so-called Poiseuille flow) is solved on the basis of both ordinary and modified kinetic equations.
