ELECTRON-VIBRATIONAL MODE-COUPLING IN K3C60 FROM IR-TRANSMITTANCE AND REFLECTIVITY

摘要
In situ IR-transmittance and reflectivity measurements were performed on potassium doped C60. A detailed study of the reflectivity of K3C60 revealed the IR-active T1u modes and some additional structures which were assigned to 6 strongly Fano-distorted Raman active H(g) modes and one moderately Fano distorted Raman active A(g) mode. The Fano effect can be explaind by a strong coupling between the discrete Raman active gerade modes and the t1u --> t1u* continuum. Using a classical metallic band description a total electron molecular vibration coupling constant of 0.77 was obtained and the consequences for superconductivity are discussed.
