摘要
The North West Wetlands Survey is undertaking extensive field survey over seven counties of north-west England. Satellite image and aerial photographic evidence has been analytically compared and combined to define and classify peat deposits and associated wetlands in Cumbria, England. This pilot study has devised new ways of enhancing satellite imagery which are suitable for the classification of lowland wetlands, and it has tested the use of remotely sensed data within the context of a major archaeological survey.
