STUDY OF CYTOCHROMES C3 FROM DESULFOVIBRIO-VULGARIS (HILDENBOROUGH) AND DESULFOVIBRIO-DESULFURICANS (NORWAY) BY DIFFERENTIAL PULSE POLAROGRAPHY AND SPECTROELECTROCHEMICAL METHOD
Cytochromes c3 from D. vulgaris (Hildenborough strain) and D. desulfuricans (Norway strain) were studied by differential pulse polarography and spectroelectrochemical method. Both cytochromes exhibit 2 reduction potential values Eh .apprxeq. -0.25 and -0.34 V (D. vulgaris), Eh .apprxeq. -0.16 and -0.34 V (D. desulfuricans). Titrations by dithionite and controlled potential electrolysis coupled with polarography and spectrophotometry suggest that in both cases electronic exchanges are rapid.
