TIME DEPENDENCE OF COULOMB DISTORTIONS IN HEAVY- ION REACTIONS

摘要：

We calculate the excitation of collective modes in heavy-ion scattering in a dynamic classical model and obtain the deformation and polarization of the projectile and the target nucleus at the Coulomb barrier as a result of their mutual electrostatic forces. Examples are given for 148Nd and 122Sn. We also show that in special cases the Coulomb barrier can be lowered for deformed nuclei. © 1969.
