摘要
Some investigations of the effect of wearing or polishing on the structure of the surface layer of Al and Fe-C alloys were carried out by using an X-ray technique and an electron probe micro analyzer. A fundamental change in the structure of the surface due to wear was found to be a lattice bending, the bending axis being dependent uniquely on the rubbing direction. The depth of the surface layer distorted by wearing was estimated, and a relationship between this and the hardness of the material was examined. These results were discussed from the crystallographical point of view. © 1968.
