SPIN-RESOLVED PHOTOELECTRON ENERGY-DISTRIBUTIONS FROM THE FE 3P CORE LEVELS

摘要
Spin-resolved photoemission with synchrotron radiation has been applied to study the photoelectron excitation from core levels. It is found that the shape of the energy distribution curves of the Fe 3p core levels depend on the photoelectron spin. The majority-spin energy distribution curve (EDC) is about 60% wider than that of the minority-spin electrons. The binding energies of the peaks in the two spin-resolved EDCs do not differ significantly. The data cannot be reconciled with current theoretical predictions.
