摘要
Studied excitatory and inhibitory effects on counseling and psychotherapy of several observational methods by the questionnaire method. 89 clients were asked to anticipate the degree of excitation-inhibition produced when involved in counseling about educational, vocational, and personal problems under conditions of no observation and observation by tape recording, cotherapy, TV, 1-way mirror, and motion picture camera. Factor analysis revealed an interaction of problems with condition of observation. Cotherapy and tape recording were minimally inhibiting conditions. More than 1/4 of the clients indicated they would reject counseling rather than submit to observation via motion picture camera, TV, or 1-way mirror.
