BIOSYNTHESIS OF 5 MAIN HISTONE FRACTIONS OF RAT THYMUS

摘要
The five main histone fractions, F1, F2(a)1, F2(a)2, F2(b) and F3, have been isolated from rat thymus 24 h after injection with l-[3H]lysine. These fractions have all been characterized by amino acid analyses and by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. Determination of relative specific activities showed that the rate of synthesis of each fraction was similar, variations occurring only if the fractions were impure. A method is also described which permits determination of relative specific activities directly from histone fractions on polyacrylamide gel. © 1969.
