STRUCTURAL PHASE-TRANSITIONS IN CSVF4 ABOVE ROOM-TEMPERATURE

摘要
New structural phase transitions in CsVF4 are discovered by optical observations and X‐ray diffraction studies. The transitions occur at 152 and 242 °C and are probably both of first order. The character of the structure in each phase can be represented by a scheme of tilted VF6 octahedra. The transitions may possible be related to the condensation of soft phonons at the X and M zone‐boundary points of the tetragonal (high‐temperature) phase.
