摘要
The fluorides KCoFeF6 and KZnFeF6 are prepared and characterised by XRD studies in the frame of tetragonal symmetry. The measurements on temperature variation of high field de susceptibility reveals that the cobalt compound follows Curie-Weiss law above 137 K and zinc compound follows the same behaviour throughout the temperature range (77 - 297 K) studied. The negative values of Curie-Weiss constant (theta) for both systems, indicate the nearest neighbour interaction to be predominantly antiferromagnetic in nature. In case of cobalt compound a peak at 129 K, followed by a plateau and then a continuous decreament from around 110 K to 77 K in susceptibility have been observed. Disappearance of the F-19 NMR line at 110 K indicates a magnetic ordering. The linear variation of M with H at 77 K indicates the ordering to be of antiferromagnetic type with T-N similar to 110 K. Nevertheless, the value of theta/T-N similar to 3, reveals the presence of frustration effects.
