The exchange current contributions to the static magnetic moments of 3H and 3He are described by the admixture of baryon resonances to the ground state. It is found that the dominant contribution comes from the admixture of the N* (1470) in a spatial symmetric 2S 1 2 state by means of the magnetic photoproduction matrix element. An admixture of about 1 percent would be sufficient to account for the magnetic moment anomaly. © 1968.
