摘要
Raman and infrared spectra were investigated in the range 200-4000 cm-1. Glycolic acid and glycolate ion in aqueous solution exist as monomers having a symmetry plane, whereas methyl glycolate has two associated forms, one with intramolecular hydrogen bonding and the other with intermolecular hydrogen bonding between hydroxyl groups. The progressive deshydration at high temperature of glycolic acid solution allowed the identification of the characteristics bands of esterification showing the beginning of polymerization.
