THE INFLUENCE OF SUBSIDIARY LANGMUIR DECAY ON THE SPECTRUM OF STIMULATED RAMAN-SCATTERING

摘要
The saturation of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) from plasmas produced by visible or ultraviolet (UV) lasers is discussed. A correspondence is reported between relatively strong plasma-wave damping and relatively large spectral intensity in the observed SRS spectra. This observation is interpreted by the hypothesis that SRS saturates at roughly the level of marginal stability for Langmuir decay.
