摘要
In a photochemical experiment simulating an oil spill in water, the relative losses of phenanthrene, dibenzothiophene and several of their mono- and dimethylderivatives were monitored for a period of 27 hours of sunshine, The sulfur heterocycles showed lower losses than the phenanthrenes; methyl groups enhance the stability of the aromatics. These results may indicate that polycyclic aromatic sulfur heterocycles are good candidates as markers for oil pollution.
