摘要
A method is developed, based on the inversion transformation of a half-space into a sphere, for the determination of temperatures due to localised arbitrary variation of the heat transfer coefficient over the surface of a heat producing infinite half-space. From a knowledge of the temperature distribution, the stresses are obtained by application of Green's functions associated with thermoelastic nuclei of strain. The method is applied to a number of heat transfer distributions, results are compared with known solutions and conclusions are drawn as to the accuracy and applicability of the method. © 1969.
