STUDY BY PMR METHODS OF EXCHANGE BETWEEN TRIMETHYLTIN CHLORIDE AND TRIMETHYLTIN MERCAPTIDES IN TOLUENE SOLUTION

1. PMR methods have been used to show that the rate of exchange in the (CH3)3SnCl+ (CH3)3SnSR system in toluene solution varies inversely with the temperature. 2. At room temperature and below, the rate of exchange depends on the nature of the R radical, increasing in the order: 2,6-(CH3)2C6H3; 3,4,5-Cl3C6H2 < 3-ClC6H4 < C6H5 < 4-(CH3)2NC6H4 < CH3. © 1979 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
