MAGNETIZATION PROFILE DETERMINATION IN AMORPHOUS WIRES

摘要
In order to measure magnetization profile along the length of thin amorphous wires a fluxmetric method is used with a small short searching coil. Because of the effect of distributed poles, the measured flux in the coil has a different profile than the magnetization in the wire. The relation between them is derived and used for determining the latter from the former. This technique is applied to Fe- and Co-based amorphous alloy wires that exhibit magnetic bistability in their remanence and saturation states. It is found that for saturated wires with uniform magnetization the flux decreases quickly close to the ends, whereas for the remanence state the two profiles are in good agreement.
