A prospective study was carried out on the efficacy of sclerotherapy for the treatment of hydrocoeles and epididymal cysts. Thirty‐six hydrocoeles and 13 epididymal cysts were treated and followed up for between 1 and 2 years. Thirty‐four hydrocoeles were cured, 1 failed to respond to treatment and 1 recurred after treatment. All 13 epididymal cysts were cured. Copyright © 1979 British Journal of Surgery Society Ltd.
