MODEL ELECTRON DENSITY PROFILES FOR LOWER IONOSPHERE

摘要
The Sen-Wyller generalised magneto-ionic theory has been applied to experimental data on ionospheric absorption and virtual heights at frequencies near 2 MHz and it is shown that in the lower ionosphere, over the height range 65-95 km, the electron density distribution can be represented by a function of the form N(h) = N(h0)ea 1(h-h0) +a2(h-h0 2. Sample model profiles have been computed for a range of ionospheric conditions and compared with profiles published by other workers. © 1969.
