摘要
Model simulations demonstrate perfectly selective vibrational excitations of very high overtones (e.g. OH(v= 10)) by series of IR picosecond laser pulses with analytical (e.g. sin2) shapes. The individual pulses are taylored to a sequence of selective intermediate transitions (e.g. 0 --> 5 and 5 --> 10), and the superposition of these individual pulses yields a global pulse for the overall transition (e.g. 0 --> 10). We also discuss extensions of the method to excitations of even higher levels, isotope selectivity, selective isomerizations, as well as comparisons with other methods.
