INFRARED RAMAN AND PROTON MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTRA OF DICYCLOPENTADIENYLMERCURY AND RELATED COMPOUNDS

摘要
The infrared and Raman spectra of (C5H5)2Hg and (C5H5)HgX types of compounds (X = halogen) have been compared with those of CsHe. It has been concluded that the Hg atoms of these compounds are bonded to the C5H6 rings. In (CsHshHg, the C-Hg-C bond is linear and the antisymmetric and symmetric Hg-C stretching vibrations are assigned at 348 and 321 cm-1, respectively. However, the relative orientation of the C5H5 rings could not be determined, since there was no appreciable vibrational coupling betrveen the vibrations of the two C5H5 rings. © 1969, American Chemical Society.
