Chemical reactivity of O(P-3) atoms in aqeous solution

摘要
The flash photolysis of BrO3- in presence of O-2 gives rise to an absorption band peaking at 260 run. which is assigned to O-3. The effect of various additives on this band is explained on basis of competition between the additive. BrO3- and O-2 on O atoms in their P-3 ground state. From the analysis of this effect the relative rate constants of these reactions could be determined and compared with gas phase data. O(3P) atoms are also produced from BrO2- and BrO-.
