RESONANT SPIN-FLIP RAMAN-SCATTERING OF EXCITONS AND MAGNETIC POLARONS IN CDTE/CD1-XMNXTE QUANTUM-WELL-STRUCTURES

摘要
We have investigated the magnetic field dependence and resonance behaviour of the spin-flip Raman-lines in CdTe/(CdMn)Te SQW- and MQW-structures. Spin-flip of carriers in the well can be distinguished from those in the barrier by their different resonance energies. As has been argued from its resonance behaviour in thick epilayers, the spin-flip process in the well is interpreted as spin-flip of the electron part of an lh-free-exciton and at B=OT of a lh-free-exciton-magnetic polaron. Magnetic field dependence of the spin-flip is compared with the penetration of the carrier wavefunction into the well. From that we conclude, that the Mn-Ions close to the interface experience a weaker antiferromagnetic coupling than those deep inside the well. © 1991.
