摘要：

It is my contention that enough words have already been written on the core matters of informed consent and what is now needed is for the medical mind to focus on some residual but key issues. As with other features of our professional world unless we do so, others are likely to take them over from us, imposing a new interpretation which may ignore or even actively oppose a long tradition of medical understanding and a hard won relationship of trust. I wish to tackle 3 matters: the meaning of “informed”, randomisation in clinical trials, and the use of volunteers in research. © 1991 British Journal of Urology
